DEMOLITION OF THE STRUCTURE LOCATED AT
2400 WASHINGTON STREET
City of Vicksburg, Mississippi
The Mayor and Alderman of the City of Vicksburg, Mississippi, will receive sealed bids for City of Vicksburg, Demolition, Disposal and Clean up of the structure located at 2400 Washington Street, Vicksburg, MS on or before 9:00 a.m. on the 10th day of April, 2019, at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 1401 Walnut Street, Vicksburg, Mississippi 39181. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud by the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg in board meeting at 10:00 o’clock a.m., on the 10th day of April, 2019, at the regular Board Meeting in Room 109 of the Robert M. Walker Building located at 1415 Walnut Street, Vicksburg, MS.
Contract Time: 90 days
The Notice to proceed on this project will be issued not later than Thirty Days after execution of the contract.
Contract documents are open to public inspection at the office of the City Clerk, 1401 Walnut Street, Vicksburg, Mississippi.
Specifications, contract documents and proposal forms may be obtained from the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, Vicksburg, Mississippi, upon payment of Twenty-Five dollars ($25.00) for each set, which will not be refunded.
The contractor selected shall be responsible for the preparation of a “demolition plan” which shall include but not limited to a drainage plan, wall shoring plan, notification and protection of adjacent property owners, and protection of Washington Street and Speed Street and any public utilities located in the Right-of-Way.
Bids must be accompanied by cash, cashier’s check, certified check or bidders bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid.
No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of thirty (30) days.
Nonresident Contractors must provide a copy of their state’s law regarding nonresident contractors.
Electronic bids can be submitted at www.centralbidding.com. Official bid documents can be
downloaded from Central Bidding. Electronic bids are due the same time and date as sealed
bids. Contractors can register as a vendor and download plans for $49.99 without being a member.

A secure electronic interactive system for the submittal of bids is an additional
bidding option for those bidders who choose to submit their bids electronically.
Those bidders who choose to submit their bids electronically will do so as directed
by the Owner and as specified in the Advertisement for Bids. When construction
bids are submitted electronically, the requirement for including a certificate of
responsibility, or a statement that the bid enclosed does not exceed Fifty Thousand
Dollars ($ 50,000.00), on the exterior of the bid envelope as indicated in Section 31-
3-21(1) and (2) of Mississippi State law shall be deemed in compliance with by
including same as an attachment with the electronic bid submittal.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities. The City reserves the right to reject from a Bidder who has not paid, or satisfactorily settled, all bills due all persons furnishing labor, equipment, and supplies on former contracts with the City; or for being in arrears on existing contracts; or being in litigation with the City; or having defaulted on a previous contract.
Bidders are cautioned that the City Clerk does not receive the daily U.S. Mail on or before 9:00 a.m. Proposals will be time-stamped upon receipt according to City Clerk’s time clock.
