Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the Nation's leader in wetland conservation, is seeking bids for the Candy Abshier WMA – Shoreline Protection Project.  We are having a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site showing to interested contractors from our bidders list at 10:00 a.m. on February 15th, 2022. We will meet at the Robinson Park Smith Point boat ramp, in Galveston County, TX 77514 (29°32'46.99"N; 94°47'14.86"W). Contractors interested in seeing the entirety of the project area should bring a boat to facilitate their site access.
 
This project generally consists of the supply and installation of up to 2,500 linear feet (7,090 tons) of rock breakwater in East Bay located directly south of Candy Abshier WMA. This work shall also include performing the necessary mobilization, day beacon installation, site preparation, excavation, embankment and other items outlined in the plans and specifications or associated with constructing the project according to the plans and specifications. The Contractor shall be responsible for any necessary pollution control measures. The unit price bid for the project shall be payment in full for supplying all materials, equipment, labor and any other necessary incidental items necessary for performing all operations described herein. Contract completion time is 120 calendar days.
