Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received for the project named below by the Vicksburg Warren School District until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, 03 July 2018 and then publicly opened and read aloud. Single stipulated sum bids will be received for all work required by the contract documents in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. 
 
It is anticipated that Notice to Proceed will be 24 July 2018.
 
Construction shall be completed as defined on Bid Form.

Plan holders are required to register and order Bid Documents at www.dalebaileyplans.com. No partial sets of Documents will be issued. Selected plan rooms will be issued one (1) CD without charge.
 
This Project provides for a Pre-bid Meeting scheduled for 10:00 AM on Tuesday, 19 June 2018 at the Vicksburg Warren School District, 1500 Mission 66, Vicksburg, MS 39180.
 
It is the intent that Bidders can bid on one or both Reroof Projects.  Proposals must be delivered in a sealed envelope and marked plainly on the outside of the envelope with the following: “Vicksburg Warren School District Reroofs, Phase 2 to be opened on 03 July 2018,” and further identified as CONTRACT C:  18037 VICKSBURG HIGH REROOF and/or CONTRACT D:  18039 VICKSBURG JUNIOR HIGH REROOF.  Bids should be addressed to Mr. Chad Shealy, Superintendent, Vicksburg Warren School District, 1500 Mission 66, Vicksburg, MS 39180. In addition, the envelope shall list the bidders Company Name, Company Address and all applicable state and local license and registration numbers of the bidder. Envelopes not so marked are submitted entirely at the risk of the bidder as the Owner and Architect assume no responsibility for the premature opening of any bid envelope by any employee of the Owner or Architect.
 
Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate only upon the blank proposal forms provided with the Specifications and must be accompanied by Proposal Security in the form of Certified Check or acceptable Bid Bond in the amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the Base Bid: such security to be forfeited as liquidated damages, not penalty, by any bidder who fails to carry out the terms of the proposal, execute a contract and post Performance and Payment Bonds in the form and amount within the time specified. The Bid Bond, if used, shall be payable to the Owner.
 
Bid proposals must be received on or before the scheduled time for opening of bids and no bid may be withdrawn after the declared closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days.
 
All bids submitted in excess of $50,000 by a prime or Subcontractor to do any erection, building, construction, repair, maintenance, or related work must comply with the Mississippi Contractors Act of 1985, by securing a Certificate of Responsibility from the State Board of Contractors.
 
In addition, official bid documents can be downloaded from Central Bidding at www.centralbidding.com.  Electronic bids are to be submitted at www.centralbidding.com.  For any questions relating to the electronic bidding process, please call Central Bidding at 225-810-4814.  Electronic bids are not required, but offered as an additional means to submit bids.
 
The Owner has set as a goal a 10% participation of locally owned companies for these projects and a goal of 10% minority/woman owned participation for these projects. Contractor must prove and document a good faith effort in writing of their efforts to obtain these goals within seven (7) days of notification of award of contract.
 
The Owner reserves the right to waive any irregularities, the right to reject any or all bids and the option to postpone action and final decision for a period of up to sixty (60) days.
