REQUEST FOR BIDS ON PUBLIC CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
“INSTALLATION OF WALK IN TUB”
Dear Prospective Contractor:
The City of Jackson (City) is seeking quotes from responsible contractors to provide a five (5) foot walk in tub for the master bathroom at 1208 Summer Lane, Jackson, MS 39211. Your quote must be received in the Office of the City Clerk located at 219 South President Street. The deadline for receiving quotes will be 3:30 p.m. on February 26, 2019. The bids will be opened publicly and read aloud on February 26, 2019 following expiration of the deadline. All bidders are welcome to attend.

Note: If your quote involves a joint venture with another firm, please understand that both firms will be listed on the check for payment in the event your firm is awarded this business. Failure to comply with the City’s ordinance may disqualify a contractor, bidder or offeror from being awarded an eligible contract.

Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi law and possess a certificate of responsibility issued by the Mississippi State Board of Contractors establishing its classification as to the value and type of construction on which it is authorized to bid. Each bidder must deposit with its proposal, a bid bond or certified check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid for the work, payable to the City of Jackson, as the bid security.
The successful bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount awarded. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds or Payment Bonds and Performance Bonds must file with each bond a certified and effective dated copy of their power of attorney.
Proposals shall be submitted in triplicate, sealed and deposited with the City of Jackson’s City Clerk prior to the hour and date designated above. Each bidder shall write its certificate of responsibility number on the outside of the sealed envelope containing its proposal.
Please be sure that the name and a phone number for a contact individual in your firm, the correct mailing address, and email address is submitted when the response is tendered.If you need to visit or inspect the location prior to submission of the bid, please telephone the Division of Risk Management at 960-1039 so that the inspection may be arranged. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids as it deems necessary.
