ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
 
Sealed bids will be received by the St. James Parish Government until 10:00 a.m. on JANUARY 21, 2022 at 5800 Highway 44, Convent, LA 70723 for furnishing all labor, materials, supervision, etc. and performing all work necessary to complete VACHERIE AND CONVENT WATER TREATMENT PLANTS ROOF REPLACEMENTS, and immediately opened thereafter.
 
The Contractor shall hold a Louisiana Contractor’s license in BUILDING CONSTRUCTION Classification. The work consists of installation of new standing seam metal roof at the Convent and Vacherie Water Treatment Plants in St. James Parish.
 
All bids must be in accordance with the Contract Documents on file with St. James Parish Operations Department at 5800 Highway 44, Covent, LA 70723. All bidders envelope in which the bid is placed must be clearly marked with the Project Name, Opening Date, Contractor’s Name, Address and Louisiana State License Number. Late bids will not be accepted.
 
Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier check, or bid bond acceptable to the Owner in the amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount bid, and payable without condition to Owner as a guarantee that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will promptly execute a Contract in accordance with his proposal and all terms and conditions of the Contract Documents. Bidders also have the option to submit bids electronically in accordance with Louisiana Revised Statue 38:2212 E(1). Please find bid related materials and place electronic bids at www.centralauctionhouse.com.   If submitting bid electronically, a bid bond is the only acceptable form of bid security. A cashier’s or certified check will NOT be accepted.
 
Contract documents may be secured from Meyer Engineers, Ltd., 4937 Hearst Street, Suite 1B, Metairie, LA 70001; (504) 885-9892. Documents can be obtained by a licensed Contractors upon receipt of $50.00 for a hard copy set and/or a non-refundable fee of $25.00 for an electronic set on compact disc. This payment is refundable to bonafide bidders returning the Documents in good condition within ten (10) days after the Opening of Bids
 
A MANDATORY pre-bid conference will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. The meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Parish Courthouse, Council Chambers, 5800 Highway 44, Covent, LA 70723.
 
No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
 
The Contractor shall begin mobilization and procurement of materials within ten (10) working days of the receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
 
Any person with disabilities requiring special accommodations must contact the St. James Parish no later than seven (7) days prior to bid opening.
 
The Parish reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause; such actions will be in accordance with Title 38 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes.
 
Bidders are made aware that this project may be funded in part by federal disaster recovery grants, whereby additional terms, conditions, and requirements may apply above and beyond those typically applicable to this classification of project. A template of additional terms and conditions is available with the Contract Documents referenced above. Additional terms and conditions will be negotiated with the successful bidder prior to award.
