Additions and Renovations to Center Street Elementary School – New Iberia, LA
Sealed bids will be received by the Iberia Parish School Board at any time or day prior to, but not later than 5:30 PM CST on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, for the above listed general building construction work.
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be scheduled for Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 9:00 AM CST 520 Center Street New Iberia, LA, for all bidders of record.
Bids may be mailed to the Iberia Parish School Board, PO Box 200, New Iberia, LA 70562-0200, or delivered to the Iberia Parish School Board Administrative Office, 1500 Jane Street, New Iberia, LA 70560: Between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM on any working day prior to the bid opening or delivered at the time of the bid opening as listed below.
All bids, with a properly executed envelope, will be opened and read at the Iberia Parish School Board meeting held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 5:30PM CST in the Board Room of the Iberia Parish School Board Administrative Office located at 1500 Jane Street, New Iberia, LA.
Proposed contract documents may be obtained by calling the office of Paul J. Allain, Architect, Project Architect at 337-365-9493. After depositing $300.00 for one compact disc of contract documents, 50% of the deposit will be refundable after the bid opening with a bona fide bid with-in 10 days of bid dates. No hard copy sets of contract documents will be provided for bidding and/or construction.
Each request for contract documents will include written documentation showing the contractor’s company name, company’s state license no., the names of the company’s officers; and a signed affidavit from the company’s insurance agency certifying to the contracting company’s ability to obtain a performance and payment bond with its’ bonding limits and bonding company’s name.
Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security (certified check, cashier’s check or bid bond with power of attorney for an amount equal to 5% of the total bid. Money orders and/ or company checks will not be acceptable. Such security will be no less than 5% of the net amount bid, excluding taxes.
Rain days will be accepted provided they are in compliance with industry standards. Liquidated damages are $300.00/day.Provide the number of calendar days for construction on the public bid form.
The Iberia Parish School Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities.
