ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS – BID PACKAGE #1 Re-Bid
Memorial Hospital at Gulfport will receive Sealed Bids with Qualification Statements until FRIDAY, January 18th, 2019 at 2:00 PM for the furnishing of all labor and material and performing all work necessary and incidental to BID Package #1, Medical Office Building Elevator Replacement Re-bid, MEMORIAL HOSPITAL at GULFPORT, in accordance with plans and specifications.

SUMMARY OF WORK
This bid advertisement if for a General Contractor. The Scope of Work includes the coordination and support of installation for two Kone EcoSpace EB elevators. Information related to the scope of work to be provided by owner and to be coordinated by the general contractor as it relates to the Kone elevator company. All work included in the contract documents outside the scope of work noted by Kone elevator company shall be provided by the general contractor, including all labor, material and the like for a complete project and complete functioning and warranted project.
All work is complete with materials, labor, and equipment necessary to perform the said work, including coordination with other trade contracts as contracted by Memorial Hospital. Strict conformance to infection control guidelines, construction noise abatement, and ability to organize work with flexible hours and manage disruptions during the continuity of construction related work is vital to the successful completion of this project.
Bidders shall have proven and demonstrated ability to construct and renovate in a fully operational 24- hour acute care Hospital or other In-patient care facility within the last five years. Contractors and subcontractors with work experience in Memorial Hospital at Gulfport are encouraged to respond to the solicitation, however, Memorial Hospital will take into consideration all bidders who have demonstrated acceptable qualifications.
Work shall be completed as indicated on the individual Forms of Proposal liquidated damages shall apply
for non-compliance. A Performance and Payment Bond will be required of the successful bidder.

Bids submitted by mail must be addressed to: Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, P.O. Box 1810, Gulfport, MS 39502, and Attention: Mr. Greg Quigley, Director Engineering Department. Bids hand delivered before 1:45 p.m. on bid date shall be delivered to the office of Mr. Greg Quigley, Engineering Office, Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, 4500 13th Street, Gulfport, MS 39501. Bids hand delivered between 1:45 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on bid date shall be delivered to Greg Quigley in the Large Engineering Conference Room, Second Floor at Memorial Hospital. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at MEMORIAL HOSPITAL at GULFPORT, LARGE ENGINEERING CONFERENCE, ROOM SECOND FLOOR at 2:00 P.M. on FRIDAY, January 18th, 2019.
Plans and specifications are also being made available via original paper copy. Plan Holders can register and order bid documents at www.mhardyarchitect.com. Bid deposits in the amount of $125.00 per set for documents are refundable and must be purchased through the website. 1. Local Plan Room will be issued one (1) set free of charge.
2. No partial sets of drawings of project manuals will be issued.
3. Cost of reproduction $125.00 to be deducted for each set over one to any Prime Contractor and any major subcontractor listed on Form of Proposal, with $125.00 refunded upon return of Contract Documents, in good and usable condition within ten (10) calendar days after bids received.
4. Cost of reproduction $125.00 to be deducted on each set kept over seven (7) calendar days, on which prime contractor fails to submit bona fide bid.
5. Cost of reproduction $125.00 to be deducted on each set obtained by any non-bidder (subcontractors and suppliers) with $125.00 refundable upon return of Contract Documents in good usable condition within ten (10) calendar days after bids received.
6. Cost of reproduction $125.00 to be deducted on each set not returned by Prime Contractor within ten (10) calendar days after bids received.
7. Refund in full on all sets returned in good condition, except as noted above.
Instructions to bidders, plans and specifications, and other documents pertaining to construction of this project, may be reviewed at the following places, beginning December 18th, 2018.

To assist Bidders during the bid period, one (1) Pre-Bid Conference and Site Visit will be held on
Thursday January 3, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Large Engineering Conference Room, Second Floor at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.
Bid security of five (5%) for the amount of bid shall be submitted with each bid.
Bids shall be submitted in sealed opaque envelopes. Envelopes shall be clearly marked SEALED BID: MEMORIAL HOSPITAL at GULFPORT, Medical Office Building Elevator Replacement Re-Bid.
Bidders must indicate Certificate of Responsibility Number (C.O.N.) on the outside of the sealed proposal. (Bid’s without C.O.N. will not be opened)
No bids will be accepted after 2:00pm.
“No bid shall be considered awarded until such time as all contract documents have been signed and received by both parties.”
The Board of Trustees of Memorial Hospital at Gulfport reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive any formality. Attention should be directed to the fact that Memorial Hospital at Gulfport is a publicly owned hospital and subject to Mississippi State Laws related to bidding. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after date set for opening thereof.
