Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the Nation's leader in wetland conservation, is seeking bids for the J.D. Murphree WMA – Compartments 5, 6, and 11 Ditch Rehabilitation Project. We are having a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site showing to interested contractors from our bidders list at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9th, 2025. We will meet at the J.D. Murphree WMA check station located at 10 Parks and Wildlife Dr, Port Arthur, TX 77640 (29°53'14.34"N, 94°2'3.82"W). Contractors are strongly encouraged to bring an airboat to facilitate viewing the entirety of the project area.

The project base bid generally consists of the rehabilitation of three wetland units totaling 71,118 linear feet of ditch rehabilitation. This work shall also include performing the necessary mobilization, site preparation, and other items outlined in the plans or associated with constructing the project according to the plans. The non-mandatory Additive Bid Alternate #1 generally consists of the removal of existing brush piles from the existing compartment levee (ditch side) toes and placing the material within the interiors of the wetland compartments. The Contractor shall be responsible for any necessary pollution control measures. The unit price bid for the project shall be payment in full for supplying all materials, equipment, labor and any other necessary incidental items necessary for performing all operations described herein. Contractors shall submit proposed construction schedules with their documents.
