Work to Be Done:
The City of Pineville had a portion of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Lagoon dredged earlier this year. The dredged material (sludge) was pumped into geotextile tubes for dewatering. The dewatering process is complete and the City of Pineville is now letting a contract for the disposal of the dredged material (sludge cake). The scope of work for this contract consists of constructing a new gate at the sludge storage area, construction of a stone haul/loading drive from the entrance to the sludge storage area, maintaining haul/loading drive throughout operation, loading of sludge cake from geotextile tubes in the sludge storage area, and hauling of sludge cake to a properly permitted landfill. The sludge storage area shall be cleaned, regraded, dressed, and reseeded upon completion of sludge cake disposal operations. The geotextile tubes and liner material shall be disposed of in the landfill as well.
It is estimated that there are approximately 5,000 cubic yards of sludge cake within the geotextile tubes in the sludge storage area. The unit weight of the sludge cake was determined to be 63.8 lbs per cubic foot, therefore an estimate of tonnage of the sludge cake is approximately 4,300 tons.
A Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the City of Pineville, City Hall Building, 910 Main Street, Pineville, Louisiana 71360 at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.
