Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received from Invited Bidders by Hospital Service District No. 2 of the Parish of Vermilion, dba Abbeville General Hospital either online at or at Abbeville General Hospital Administrative Offices, 118 N. Hospital Drive, Abbeville, Louisiana, 70510 until 3:00 PM, Thursday, August 13, 2020 for the following:

and will thereafter, be publicly opened and read aloud.  Bids received after the above-specified time for opening shall not be considered and shall be returned unopened to the sender.
The work generally consists of the minor renovation of the existing Operating Room No. 5 to allow installation of a new CT Surgical Light and Equipment Boom. The Project includes selective demolition and reconstruction of existing ceilings and other finishes along with all associated Mechanical construction. The Contractor will also be required to strictly coordinate his work with a separate Electrical Improvements Project that will be conducted simultaneously during the work of this project. That separately bid Electrical project will include all required electrical demolition and reconstruction work within Operating Room No. 5 to connect the new Surgical Light and Equipment Boom as well as other related electrical work that will take place in OR No. 5 and adjacent Operating Rooms in the Surgery Department. 
A Pre-bid Conference will be held in the Hospital’s Auditorium on Thursday August 6, 2020 at 3:00 PM. All invited Contractors and interested major Subcontractors are encouraged to attend.
General contractors (Prime Bidders), subcontractors and material suppliers interested in bidding shall obtain electronic pdf version sets of plans, specifications and bid documents from the office of The Sellers Group, 147 Easy Street, Lafayette, Louisiana 70506 (337) 232-0778. Printed copies are not available from the Designer or Owner but arrangements can be made to obtain them through most reprographic firms. Reproduction cost on the first paper set of plans and specifications acquired by bona fide Prime Bidders will be fully refunded by the Architect upon delivery of the documents and printing invoice to the Architect in good condition no later than ten days after receipt of the bids. All other plan holders are responsible for their own reproduction costs. Partial sets of documents will not be issued. Plans, specifications and bid documents shall be available to be transmitted in electronic format until twenty-four (24) hours before the bid opening. Each quotation shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond payable to the Owner, the amount of which shall be five percent (5%) of the total amount bid (including alternates).  If a bid bond is used, it shall be written by a surety or insurance company currently on the U. S. Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service list of approved bonding companies which is published annually in the Federal Register or by a Louisiana domiciled insurance company with a least an A- Rating in the latest printing of the A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide to write individual bonds up to ten percent of policyholders' surplus as shown in the A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide.  The bid bond shall be issued by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana and countersigned by a person who is under contract with the surety company or bond issuer as a licensed agent in this state.  Bid Bonds shall be accompanied by a Power of Attorney as described in the Instructions to Bidders Section of the Specifications. The certified check, cashier's check or bid bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder shall execute the contract, should it be awarded to him, in conformity with the contract documents.
Contractors or contracting firms submitting bids in the amount of $50,000.00 or more shall certify that they are licensed contractors under Title 37 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes (LA. R.S. 37:2150-2192) for the classification of BUILDING CONSTRUCTION and show their license number on the front of the sealed envelope in which their bid is enclosed.  Bids in the amount of $50,000.00 or more, not submitted in accordance with this requirement, shall be rejected and shall not be read.  If the contract price is less than $50,000.00, the contractor need not be licensed.  Any bid submitted that does not require the contractor to hold a license shall state the exemption on the bid envelope.  Additional information relative to the licensing may be obtained from the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Bidder is required to comply with provisions and requirements in accordance with LA. R. S. 38:2212(B)5.  No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of bids, except under the provisions of LA. R.S. 38:2214.
Each bid shall be submitted only on the Bid Form included in the Specifications.
The Contractor and all of his Subcontractors awarded this project shall be designated as an Agent for the Purchasing of Materials and/or Leasing of Equipment by the Owner and will thereby be exempt from the payment of State and Local Sales and Use taxes for this project as specified in the Project Manual.
The successful contractor will be required to execute Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds in the full amount of the contract as more fully defined in the bid documents.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all quotations or any portions thereof for just cause. In accordance with LA R. S. 38:2212(B)(1), the provisions and requirements of this Section, those stated in the invitation to bids, and those required on the bid form shall not be considered as informalities and shall not be waived by any public entity.
