at which time and place the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bidders have the option to submit their bids electronically by using Central Auction House at www.centralauctionhouse.com.
The successful Bidder is allowed 75 calendar days to complete the Project from the date of a Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages will be assessed at $1,000 for each consecutive calendar day for which the work is not substantially complete and $1,000 for each consecutive calendar day for which all of the work listed on the punch list is not complete.
A CD of the Bid Documents in digital form may be obtained at the office of Brossett Architect, LLC, 414 Pujo Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601, upon payment of a fee of $ 10.00 per CD.
Bids must be accompanied by security in favor of the Cameron Parish School Board, equal to at least 5% of the sum of the base bid and any alternates, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check or written by a surety company in compliance with La. R.S. 38:2218. Sureties must be signed by the surety's agent or attorney-in-fact and accompanied by an appropriate power of attorney.
Successful Bidder must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds complying with La. R.S. 38:2219 on the forms included in the bidding documents.
A PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Johnson Bayou High School, located at 6304 Gulf Beach Hwy, Cameron, LA 70631. Attendance at this Pre-bid Conference is Not Mandatory.
The apparent low bidder must complete and deliver to the School Board at the address stated above within ten (10) calendar days after the date of the opening of the Bids the signed attestation affidavit required by La. R.S. 38:2227, the non-collusion affidavit required by La. R. S. 38:2224, the sworn affidavit required by La. R.S.38:2212.10 and other required documents as specified in the Bidding Documents. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 45 days after the date of the bid opening except as provided by law.
Bidders must meet the requirements of the State of Louisiana Contractor’s Licensing Law, R.S. 37:2151 et seq.
NOTE: BIDS SHALL ONLY BE ACCEPTED FROM CONTRACTORS WHO HOLD AN ACTIVE LICENSE AT THE TIME OF THE BID OPENING UNDER LOUISIANA CONTRACTORS LICENSING LAW FOR THE MAJOR CLASSIFICATION OF BUILDING CONSTRUCTION.
Cameron Parish School Board reserves the right to award the project on whatever basis is in the interest of the Owner and to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities.
