ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for the construction of the Yokohama Boulevard Sewer Extension will be received by the Mayor and Board of Selectmen of the City of West Point, at the offices of City Hall located at 580 Commerce Street, West Point, MS 38851, until September 17, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The Project consists of constructing Yokohama Boulevard Sewer Extension.
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and/or unit price basis, with additive and/or deductive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form.
The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: Calvert-Spradling Engineers, Inc.; 7085 Highway 45 North Alternate, P.O. Drawer 1078; West Point, MS 39773. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays during regular business hours, and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below.
Minority and women’s business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, materials and/or supply needs. The City of West Point, Mississippi is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The successful bidder must comply with the Davis-Bacon Act which requires that all laborers and mechanics shall be paid at rates not less than those determined by the Department of Labor to be the prevailing for the locality in which the project is located.
This project is being funded in part by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Grant #MS-17623 and the rules and regulations therein apply.
Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office, during the hours indicated above, upon payment of a non-refundable deposit of $100.00_ for each set. Checks for Bidding Documents shall be payable to Calvert-Spradling Engineers, Inc. Upon request and receipt of the document deposit indicated above plus a non-refundable shipping charge, the Issuing Office will transmit the Bidding Documents via delivery service. The shipping charge amount will depend on the shipping method selected by the prospective Bidder. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
