St. Charles Parish Public Schools is seeking written proposals in order to enter into a 12 month contract, from July 1, 2015 ? June 30, 2016, for library services in accordance to instructions and specifications of services to meet the district?s needs today and in the future. At the option of the St. Charles Parish School Board and acceptance by the vendor, this contract may be renewed at the same terms and conditions for two (2) additional twelve (12) month periods.The intent of the specifications is to invite proposals on high quality merchandise. It is not the intent to eliminate brands of equal quality but instead to set forth and convey to prospective vendors the general style, type, character, and quality of the product desired. All books must be brand new. No refurbished books will be considered.

For Processing Specifications, number 3, you may send books from the list to provide samples. For the pricing of the books on 19, 69, 70, 76, 84, 98: submit as listed by ISBN number.

I am still confused on the anwser provided for Processing Specifications, number 3. Do we have to submit book samples, is it manadatory part of the specifications since we have to submit this bid via Central Bidding. If so, we need an address to submit the samples and a contact person. Please advise.

For the 100 MARC records, can we follow industry standard with AACR2 for titles prior to 2013 and RDA for the rest? Additionally, there are some titles that are not yet published and therefore we are unable to provide a completed MARC record. Can we provide a "shell" record since these aren't actually available yet?

Please submit the book samples to Laura Abbey, 13855 River Road, Luling, LA 70070. You would provide samples of books as specified 3. a-g. For example, you would provide a book sample of a hardback book with a mylar jacket (3e).

Could you please clarify which type of theft detection your district uses? You call out Checkpoint Security Strips, however Checkpoint does not make security strips. Do you prefer Checkpoint under pocket theft detection or 3M Security Strips?

We prefer the RFID tags that are under the pocket theft detection.
