ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 1 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Vermilion Parish School Board – Bid No. 2022.710 Intercom Replacement For: James A. Herod Elementary School Sealed bids provided on the “Louisiana Uniform Public Work Bid Form Documents” will be received by the Vermilion Parish School Board at its Charles Campbell Annex Center in the Board Meeting Room Located at 216 South Jefferson Street in Abbeville, Louisiana 70510, or online at www.centralbidding.com until 1:45 P.M. Thursday, May 5, 2022. Bids will, shortly thereafter, be opened and read aloud. Bids received after the above specified time for opening shall not be considered and shall be returned unopened to the sender. For: Vermilion Parish School Board Intercom Replacement: James A. Herod Elementary School 120 Odea Street Abbeville, LA 70510 In accordance with Louisiana RS 38:2212. Vendors may submit their bid electronically at www.centralbidding.com. Plans and specifications are available at the web site. The web site is available 24 hours a day seven days a week. Contractors submitting bids electronically are required to provide the same documents as contractors submitting through the mail or hand delivery. Regardless of the bid results, the vendor will have 48 hours from opening of the bids to provide the Vermilion Parish School Board the original documents. If a certified check, or cashier’s check, is submitted as the bid security, electronic copies of both the front and back of the check shall be included with the electronic bid. If a vendor fails to provide the original hard copies of these documents within 48 hours of the bid opening, their bid shall be considered non responsive. This project consists of New Intercom Components throughout each above mentioned campus. The site work includes, but is not limited to, new Racks, Raceway and cable installation, cable termination, testing, etc. Physical work at site will be limited to summer time when students are out on break. Completion Time: The bidder hereby agrees to commence work under this contract upon receipt of Notice to Proceed letter from the owner and to complete the work by this date, July 22, 2022 A Corporate Resolution & Bid Bond must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held starting at James A. Herod Elementary School at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. All prospective bidders shall be advised that attendance at the pre-bid conference is strongly recommended. The contractor shall obtain, maintain during the life of the project, and provide to the owner copies of the following bonds and policies which shall be obtained from surety companies, which appear on the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Circular 570, licensed to do business in the state of Louisiana, in the amounts and for the purposes stated and subject to the owner’s approval: ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 2 1. BID BOND: A “Bid Guarantee” equivalent to 5% of the bid price consisting of a firm commitment, such as a bid bond, certified check, cashier’s check, money order or other negotiable instrument, shall accompany each bid as assurance that the bidder will, upon acceptance of his bid, execute such contractual documents as may be required and within the time specified. 2. PERFORMANCE BOND: A performance bond of not less than 100% of the contract price shall be executed to assure the contractor’s faithful performance of the contract. 3. Deposit shall be fully refundable for the first set of documents to PRIME BIDDERS and one-half refundable for all additional sets to Prime Bidders, provided they submit a bona fide bid and the complete set of documents are returned in good condition within ten (10) days of bid opening; OTHERWISE, THEIR DEPOSIT, IN FULL, WILL BE FORFEITED. Deposits shall be one-half refundable to all others, provided the complete set of documents are returned in good condition within ten (10) days of bid opening; OTHERWISE, THEIR DEPOSIT, IN FULL, WILL BE FORFEITED. Prime bidders who choose not to submit a bid proposal must return complete set of documents in good condition prior to the date of bid opening; OTHERWISE, THEIR DEPOSIT, INFULL, WILL BE FORFEITED. Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed under LA. R.S. 37:2150-2163 for the classification of Electrical. Bidder is required to comply with provisions and requirements of LA R.S. 38:2212 (A)(1)(c). No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of bids, except under the provisions of LA. R.S. 38:2214. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause. In accordance with LA. R.S. 38:2212 (A)(1)(b), the provisions and requirements of this Section, those stated in the advertisement bids, and those required on the bid form shall not be considered as informalities and shall not be waived by any public entity.
