ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS – NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Pothole/Utility Cut Repair Term Bid
Sealed bids will be received by the City of Jackson, Mississippi, until 3:30 P.M. CST, Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the City Clerk’s Office located at 219 S. President St., for supplying all labor, materials and equipment as required under the term bid scope of services for the Pothole/Utility Cut Repair Term Bid. Please address envelope to City Clerk, P.O. Box 17, Jackson, MS 39205.
Contract time for this term bid contract shall be 12 calendar months from the effective date shown in the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages will be assessed by the City of Jackson if a task order is not completed within a reasonable time agreed upon by contractor and owner. The City has a right to assess liquated damages if work is not performed or abandoned by the contractor. The amount of liquidated damages per day will be $100.00 plus any additional actual costs above $100.00 incurred by the Owner. These actual costs include, but are not limited to, engineering, inspection, and other construction related costs resulting from the Contractor’s failure to complete the work on schedule.

The City of Jackson hereby notifies all bidders that in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4, that all bidders will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex, in consideration for an award.

The entire invitation for Bids package including letter from bond surety company, bid proposal and EBO plans shall be submitted in triplicate (bound/stapled separately), sealed in a plain envelope marked on the outside “City of Jackson Invitation for Bids for Pothole/Utility Cut Repair Term Bid” and deposited with the City Clerk, City Hall, Jackson, Mississippi prior to the hour and date hereinbefore designated. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.

Each Bidder must provide a letter from their bond surety company stating their client has the ability to provide a payment and performance bond at a minimum of $250,000.00 as required within the Invitation for Bids.

The City of Jackson hereby notifies all Bidders that minority and women business enterprises are solicited to bid on these contracts as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, material and/or supply needs.
The City of Jackson reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities therein.
