ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 
NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor and Board of Alderman of the City of Vicksburg, Mississippi will receive written sealed bids until the hour of 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Vicksburg, at the Vicksburg City Hall, 1401 Walnut St, Vicksburg, MS 39180, for the furnishing of all labor and materials and for the construction of that certain project designated as “I-20 FRONTAGE ROAD SANITARY SEWAR, WATER, AND GAS RELOCATION”.  Drawings and Specifications being on file at the office of the City Clerk at City Hall at Vicksburg, Mississippi.
 
The project consists of construction of: approximately 3900 LF of 10-inch ductile iron water main, 1200 LF of ductile iron Sewer Line and 4700 LF of HDPE Gas Main along the U.S. Interstate 20 Frontage Road, with all related appurtenances shown on the Bid Form.  The total Contract Time will be 150 consecutive calendar days and the liquidated damages will be $800 per consecutive calendar day thereafter.
 
An optional pre-bid conference will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 10:30 AM, local time at the City of Vicksburg Public Works office located at 1401 Walnut St, Vicksburg, MS 39180.
 
The Mayor and Board of Alderman of the City of Vicksburg, Mississippi hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises/woman business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
 
Copies of the plans and specifications, together with contract documents, prepared by Waggoner Engineering, Inc. may be obtained from the office of Waggoner Engineering, Inc., 143-A LeFleurs Square, Jackson, Mississippi 39211, upon payment of $120 for each set, none of which is refundable. 
 
Electronic bids can be submitted at www.centralbidding.com. Official bid documents can be downloaded from Central Bidding. Electronic bids are due the same time and date as sealed

A secure electronic interactive system for the submittal of bids is an additional bidding option for those bidders who choose to submit their bids electronically. Those bidders who choose to submit their bids electronically will do so as directed by the Owner and as specified in the Advertisement for Bids. When construction bids are submitted electronically, the requirement for including a certificate of responsibility, or a statement that the bid enclosed does not exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($ 50,000.00), on the exterior of the bid envelope as indicated in Section 31-3-21(1) and (2) of Mississippi State law shall be deemed in compliance with by including same as an attachment with the electronic bid submittal.
 
Award will be made to the lowest and best bidder and the Mayor and Board of Alderman of the City of Vicksburg, Mississippi reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
