This project includes the construction of a New Patterson Middle School consisting of 80,500 SF of new construction plus the renovation of an existing 16,000 SF two story classroom building.  The new facility will be located on the existing school site at 301 Catherine St., Patterson, La.  The project will be constructed in two phases.  The initial phase will be the construction of the new 80,500 SF portion of the project which is to be occupied by the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades upon completion; followed by Phase 2 which is the renovation of an existing two story classroom building that will be connected to the new facility.  The existing school together with the two story building will be occupied during Phase 1 construction.  The 5th grade will occupy a portion of the older existing school during Phase 2 construction.  Sitework (Except for final cleanup) will be included in Phase 1 of the project.   
 
The project scope generally includes earth fill, concrete slab with auger cast concrete pile foundation, concrete sidewalks and paving, site drainage, metal walkway canopy, structural steel framing, light gauge metal framing, metal roofing and associated trim, metal studs and drywall, doors, hardware, resilient tile interior flooring, finish carpentry, casework and millwork, painting, plumbing, air conditioning, automatic sprinkler system, electrical systems, IT systems, fire alarm systems, laboratory equipment, indoor athletic equipment, a telescoping bleacher system, a divider curtain that rolls down from the ceiling, and miscellaneous associated work, all as indicated on the construction drawings and  included in the project specifications.
