NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS:
Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Supervisors of George County, Mississippi at their office located at 329 Ratliff Street (south of the County Courthouse) Lucedale, Mississippi, until 10:00 am. on the 1st day of June, 2022 and shortly thereafter publicly opened for the construction of 0.151 miles of BRIDGE AND APPROACHES on the TOM HEMPSTEAD ROAD, being known as Project No. LSBP-20(14) in George County, Mississippi.

Contractors also have the option of submitting their proposals electronically through www.centralbidding.com. When submitting an electronic proposal, the proposal must be submitted in “pdf” format and shall contain the same information and forms as required for the paper proposals. When submitting a proposal electronically, the authorized signature may be a hand-written blue ink signature or be an electronic signature. When proposals are submitted electronically, the requirement for including a certificate of responsibility, or a statement that the proposal enclosed does not exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000), on the exterior of the proposal envelope shall be deemed in compliance by including the same information as an attachment with the electronic proposal submittal.
For electronic proposals, documents can be downloaded from Central Bidding’s website. Electronic submittals shall contain the exact materials as referenced for mailed proposals and shall be submitted at www.centralbidding.com. For any questions relating to the electronic bidding process, please call Central Bidding at 225-810-4814. Offers by telephone, fax or other electronic media will not be accepted, and any such proposals shall be rejected as non-responsive regardless of when received.
BASIS OF AWARD
The award, if made, will be made to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis of published quantities.
The Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement; minority business enterprise will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS are on file in the Office of the Chancery Clerk of George County, the County Engineer’s office and the Office of the State Aid Engineer, 412 E. Woodrow Wilson Avenue, Jackson, Mississippi. This project shall be constructed in accordance with the latest edition of the Mississippi Standard Specifications for State Aid Road and Bridge Construction.
PLANS AND PROPOSALS may be secured from Robert Diamond, County Engineer for George County, Mississippi, P. O. Box 205, Lucedale. The Cost is fifty dollars ($75.00) for plans and fifty dollars ($75.00) for the proposal, non-refundable.
Certified check or bid bond for five percent (5%) of the total bid, made payable to George County and the State of Mississippi must accompany each proposal.
Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid and such proposal will not be considered in making the award.
