The Project consists of improvements to the Runway Safety Area (RSA) for Runway 29 at the Lafayette Regional Airport.  The primary improvement is the addition of an Engineered Material Arresting System (EMAS) east of the Runway 29 threshold.  The EMAS installation includes constructing an asphalt pad 4 inches thick, with a crushed aggregate base section 12 inches in depth over 8 inches of lime stabilized subgrade, placing EMAS material supplied by the Owner, removing and applying markings to the block’s surface and runway and making necessary adjustments to airfield lighting and visual aids.  The EMAS installation also includes construction of a retaining wall and associated drainage improvements.

Prospective Bidders are reminded of the requirement regarding attendance at the Pre-Bid Conference which is as follows. A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 9:00 AM local time on June 6, 2016, in the Conference Room of the Administrative Building, 222 Jet Ranger X Drive, at the Lafayette Regional Airport. Representatives of all prospective bidders shall be present or at the beginning of the Pre-Bid conference and shall remain in attendance for the duration of the conference. Any prospective bidder who fails to attend the conference or remain for the duration may be prohibited from submitting a bid for the project.
