The contract labor hoppers are responsible for collecting/picking up household garbage from curb/roadside locations and placing in the County’s Solid Waste vehicles. The hoppers ride on the outside rear of the County’s trucks and will make numerous stops throughout the route for pickups.

The County is responsible for the garbage trucks and vehicles, the scheduled daily routes, and all final disposal of collected household waste. The County’s Solid Waste Manager will provide the contracted hoppers with daily supervision and direction, safety training, and document all worked hours.
The contractor is responsible for providing eight (8) contract labor hoppers four (4) days per week at the County’s Solid Waste Main Office on Industrial Park Road. The contract labor proposal should include a “per hopper-per day” cost that includes all responsibilities described in this request. The labor contract will be awarded to the proposal written within a competitive range and considered to be the most advantageous to the County. Major factors for consideration will be work experience, job efficiency, safety, and over all residential/customer satisfaction.
