Sealed bids will be accepted by the Gravity Drainage District #1 of Livingston Parish for ONE NEW AND MOST CURRENT MODEL 2011 AMPHIBIOUS EXCAVATOR FOR SWAMP OR MARSH OPERATIONS CAPABLE OF PROVIDING FLOTATION AND MOBILITY WITH A CONVENTIONAL 12-14 METRIC TON SIZE EXCAVATOR until 12:00 pm (Noon) February 8, 2011. The outside of the envelope must be marked “New and Most Current Model 2011 Amphibious Excavator.” Bids may be submitted by mail or hand delivered to 8117 Florida Blvd, Denham Springs, LA 70726 or online at www.centralbidding.com. Bids submitted after this date and time will not be accepted. Bids will be opened and read aloud at this time and will be under consideration until that time when the bids are reviewed for compliance. All bids will be reviewed and the bid will be awarded to the lowest compliant bidder as determined by the Gravity Drainage District #1 Board. All bids shall be good for 60 days. Vendors are directed to list any exceptions to specifications, the Drainage District reserves the right to reject any bids that fail to list exceptions to the bid specifications. Drive System: Excavator diesel engine and main hydraulic pumps through a hydraulic swivel. Hydraulic travel motors shall be Saur 90 series 80 frame motors. The breaks must provide independent power to each pontoon track. Standard excavator travel controls are used. Final reduction must be provided by chain and sprocket. Gearbox and drive sprocket must be splined shafts and hubs. Key way shafts not allowed. Must be able to counter rotate without moving back and forth or using excavator boom for assistance
