Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the Nation's leader in wetland conservation, is seeking bids for the LA-1 Terraces project.  We are having a MANDATORY pre-bid meeting and site showing to interested contractors from our bidders list at 10:00AM on May 7, 2025.  We will meet at the Catfish Lake Boat Launch in Golden Meadow and will navigate to the project site west of the existing Highway 3235 (N. Alex Plaisance Boulevard, “LA-1”) approximately 5 miles south of the boat launch and 0.5 miles due west of The Blessed Trinity Seafood Market.  Please see the attached vicinity map or Sheet 3 of the plans.  Ducks Unlimited will shuttle a limited number of contractors to the terrace field for any investigative efforts requested.  All contractors are welcome to utilize their own boat(s) in conducting site assessment. In all cases, please bring your own personal flotation device.
 
The work on this project consists of constructing and planting 88,175 LF of marsh terraces, with placement of 3,333 units of spaced “Living Shoreline” modules.  This work shall also include performing the necessary items outlined in the plans and specifications and associated with constructing the project according to the plans.  Contract completion time is 380 calendar days. Bids shall be submitted online through Central Bidding by 2:00 P.M. CST on May 22, 2025.  Anticipated Notice to Proceed timeframe is the end of June.
