Request for Sealed Bids and Advertisement for Mandatory Pre-bid Meeting
2016 Home Investment Partnerships Grant
The Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg, MS are currently accepting bids on behalf of homeowners from licensed and registered contractors for the rehabilitation of two (2) homes located at (2601 Drummond Street and 1703 Grove Street)
Bid specifications packages and bid forms will be available to contactors at the MANDATORY pre-bid meeting held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the old City Hall Board room at 1401 Walnut Street, Suite 200. All parties who plan to submit a bid for consideration must attend the pre-bid meeting. Bids for each structure will be considered independently. Bids must be submitted on forms provided.
The successful Bidder must provide a Performance Bond upon award of the contract in the amount of the contract price as described in the bid package and the contractor must meet bonding requirements.
E-Verify: All contractors with the City of Vicksburg, MS must provide proof of compliance with the Mississippi Employment Act, Sec 71-11-3 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended.
The project is funded by the MS Home Corporation with funds received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, HOME Investment Partnerships Grant Program and is subject to all applicable state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
Sealed bids will be accepted until 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2020 in the office of the City Clerk 1401 Walnut Street Vicksburg, MS 39180 and opened during the Mayor and Board of Aldermen meeting in the Robert M. Walker Building, 1415 Walnut Street, Vicksburg, MS on February 18, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud during the Board meeting at 10:00 a.m. All envelopes must be marked with “(contractor’s license number)”and “HOME Grant Bid” in the lower left-hand corner. Bids will be examined and awarded to the lowest and best bidder for each unit. The City of Vicksburg reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Bids will be reviewed before final award.
Bidders are cautioned that the City Clerk does not receive the daily U.S. Mail on or before 9:00 a.m. Proposals will be time-stamped upon receipt according to the City Clerk’s time clock.
Electronic bids can be submitted at www.centralbidding.com. Official bid documents can be downloaded from Central Bidding. Electronic bids are due the same time and date as sealed bids. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities. The City reserves the right to reject any bidder who has not paid, or satisfactorily settled all bills due all persons furnishing labor, equipment and supplies on former contracts with the City, or for being in arrears on existing contracts, or being in litigation with the City, or having defaulted on a previous contract.
