Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received at City Hall by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Crowley, Louisiana, located at 425 N. Parkerson Avenue, Crowley, LA 70527, or by electronic bid at www.centralbidding.com, until  10:00 a.m.  on  Friday the 9th day of August, 2019 for the “2019-2020 Labor & Equipment Contract” project for the City of Crowley, and shall at that time and place be publicly opened and read aloud.  Bids received after the above specified time for opening shall not be considered and shall be returned unopened to the sender.  The work shall generally consist of the following:
 
-  Furnishing of supervision, labor, and equipment for various public works and sanitary sewer system needs, identified and authorized by work order, that may arise between the date of the Notice of Award through August February 28th, 2020.

-  Coordination with the City of Crowley Street Department regarding various public works needs, identified and authorized by work order, that may arise between the date of the Notice of Award through February 28th, 2020.

- Coordination with the City of Crowley Sewer Department regarding various sanitary sewer system needs, identified and authorized by work order, that may arise between the date of the Notice of Award through February 28th, 2020.

All general contractors and 1st and 2nd subcontractors shall be licensed by the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors throughout the life of the contract. 

The Information for Bidders, Form of Bid Proposal, Form of Contract, Plans, Specifications, and other contract documents may be examined at the office of Mader Engineering, Inc. located at 1245 S. College Road, Building 1, Lafayette, LA 70503.  Electronic copies (.pdf) may be obtained upon request at no charge. Should hard copies be requested, such copies may be obtained at this office upon deposit of $ 30.00   which amount constitutes the cost of reproduction and handling. Payment for hard copies shall be made to Mader Engineering, Inc.   Deposits on the first set of documents furnished to bona fide prime bidders will be fully refunded upon return of the documents (in original condition) no later than ten days after receipt of bids.  On other sets of documents furnished to bidders, the deposit less actual cost of reproduction will be refunded upon return of the documents (in original condition) no later than ten days after receipt of bids.
 
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause. Such actions will be in accordance with Title 38 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes.
 
A Bid Bond in the amount of $5,000.00 is required and shall be submitted with the bid.
 
Performance and Payment Bonds  are not  required as stipulated in Section II (General Conditions) of the Specifications and Contract Documents. 
 
Builder’s Risk Insurance is not required as stipulated in Section II (General Conditions) of the Specifications and Contract Documents. 
 
Contractors or contracting firms shall certify that they are licensed contractors under Chapter 24 of Title 37 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 and show their license number on the front of the sealed envelope in which their proposal is enclosed.  General Contractors and 1st and 2nd subcontractors shall be licensed for the classification of Municipal and Public Works Construction.
