INVITATION FOR BIDS
TIMBER SALE
EAST CARROLL PARISH SCHOOL BOARD
 
         Sealed bids will be received by the East Carroll Parish School Board, P.O. Box 792, Lake Providence, LA 71254, up to and no later than 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 30, 2018 for the purchase of all merchantable pine on East Carroll Parish School Board tract of land located at Section 16, Township 20 North, Range 12 East (N-32.726, W-91.249) in East Carroll Parish, Louisiana.
 
         All timber must be removed within a 24 month period. Mill tickets and state required load report must be submitted weekly after each lumber haul. Louisiana’s forestry best management practices (BMP’s) are to be followed. Full information concerning the timber for sale, conditions of sale, and submission of bids must be obtained from Meagan Brown, Instructional, Support, and Auxiliary Services, Supervisor East Carroll Parish School Board, 514 Third Street, Lake Providence, LA 71254, Telephone: (318) 559-2222 ext. 2019. Bidders must use the School Board’s Bid Form. The bid opening will be 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 30, 2018.
 
A pre-entry conference will be set up with the successful bidder to lay out the appropriate roads, measure skid trails, loading ramps, etc. In the event of excessive wet conditions, the School Board may put a halt to timber harvesting activities.
 
 
All bid proposals must be forwarded to the East Carroll Parish School Board through the United States Postal Service or electronically online at www.centralbidding.com. Bids submitted by U.S. Postal Service must be certified and arrive by the date and time designated above. The front or outside of the envelope MUST be CLEARLY MARKED “Timber Sale” or they will be deemed unacceptable. Any late bids will be returned, unopened.  NO HAND DELIVERED bid will be accepted.  The envelope containing the sealed bid shall be addressed to:

The contract will be for a period of twenty- four (24) months from the date of the award of the contract.
 
The timber may be inspected at any time. Appropriate maps are attached to identify the site and the limits of the various boundaries.    

The East Carroll Parish School Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
