NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Southaven, Mississippi will receive written sealed bids until the hour of ­­10 o’clock a.m. local time, on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Southaven, at the following address:

Received Bids will then be publicly read aloud in the City’s Board Room at 10:15 a.m. local time. Bids are for the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the construction of that certain project designated as Whitworth Water Treatment Plant Upgrades and Generator Replacements also known as MDEQ ARPA Project No. 325-2-DW-5.15. Project Documents are on file and can be viewed at the office of the City Clerk.
 
Bids are for all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to remove and replace three existing transfer switches at three water treatment plant facilities in the City and will also include removing and replacing four generators at four water treatment plant facilities in the City. This project generally includes demolition and disposal of existing hardware & equipment, the installation of new transfer switches and generators, and all electrical work required to complete the project.
 
The total Contract Time will be 365 consecutive calendar days and the liquidated damages will be $500.00 per consecutive calendar day thereafter.

Copies of the drawings and specifications, together with contract documents, may be obtained from the City Clerk’s office, with payment of $200 reproduction costs for each set, none of which is refundable.

Minority and women’s business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities and equipment, material, and/or supply needs.
 
The City is utilizing Federal assistance for the construction of the project and is subject to U.S. Treasury’s regulations governing ARPA, and all applicable terms and conditions in 2 C.F.R. Part 200; Bidders are hereby responsible for adhering to all applicable Federal Laws.
 
The City of Southaven reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any information and irregularities therein, solicit new bids, award the bid to the lowest and best bidder.
