Sealed bids are requested by Central Community School Board from general contractors for construction of:
PROJECT NAME: HAZARDOUS MATERIAL ABATEMENT AND DEMOLITION FORMER GREENWELL SPRINGS HOSPITAL
GREENWELL SPRINGS, LOUISIANA 70739
Bids will be received at the Central Community School Board, Attention: Mr. Michael Faulk, Superintendent, 10510 Joor Rd., Suite 300, City of Central, LA 70818, until:
10:00 AM, LOCAL TIME, May 19, 2015
at which time and place the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bidders have the option to submit their bids electronically by using Central Auction House. Central Auction House can be found by going to the Central Community School System website and clicking on the Central Auction House link or going directly to their site at www.CENTRALAUCTIONHOUSE.com.
Complete Bidding Documents may also be obtained from the Harry Rayner, Rayner Consulting Group LLC, 7353 Highland Road, Suite B-3B, Baton Rouge, LA 70808, (225) 916-2824 upon payment of a deposit of $150 for each set of documents. The deposit or a portion of the deposit is returnable as provided by the Louisiana Public Bid Laws. Questions about this procedure shall be directed to:

The successful Bidder is required to be substantially complete with the work by no later than 213 calendar days. Liquidated damages will be assessed at $ 1,000.00 for each consecutive calendar day for which the work is not substantially complete.
Bids must be accompanied by a bid security equal to 5 percent of the base bid and all additive alternates in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check, or bid bond written by a Surety licensed to do business in Louisiana. Surety must be in compliance with the provisions of La. R.S. 38:2219.
The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish Performance and Payment bonds on the forms provided by the School System and written in accordance with State law.
A MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held at 10:00 a.m. on May 7, 2015 at the office of the Central Community School Board, 10510 Joor Road, Suite 300, City of Central, LA 70818. The Pre-Bid conference will also include a site visit. Attendance at the site visit is mandatory as well.
Attendance at this Pre-bid Conference is mandatory and is a pre-condition of bidder eligibility. Sign-in for the Conference will be between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. The Conference will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. No one will be allowed to sign in after that time and all bidders must attend the entire conference in order to be eligible to bid.
Bidders must meet the requirements of the State of Louisiana Contractor’s Licensing Law, R.S. 37:2151, et seq. Bidders are required to comply with the provisions and requirements of La. R.S. 38:2212(A)(1)(c). Bidders shall note, Work associated with the Removal and Disposal of Asbestos-Containing Materials and the Demolition that may disturb Asbestos-Containing Materials shall be conducted by a contractor licensed for the Removal and Disposal of Asbestos-Containing Materials and comply with the provisions and requirements of R.S. 37:2151 through R.S. 37:2192.
Central Community School Board reserves the right to award the project on whatever basis is in the interest of the Owner and to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities.
